Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, Japanese company Namiki-Pilot is a worldwide benchmark for high-caliber writing pieces. Currently separated into two different branches, the Pilot writing pieces are celebrated for their innovative design and used of materials, while Namiki continues to elaborate their pieces through ancient Japanese techniques such as Maki-e, in which the artist applies thin plates of gold, silver and shells to a lacquer base using a Kebo brush.
