Overview
The Visconti Homo Sapiens Crystal Dream fountain pen opens up the Lava Bronze design with two demonstrator windows. A large window in the barrel reveals ink in the main reservoir, while a smaller window near the grip shows the second reservoir. Basaltic lava resin, bronze trim, and a rose gold-plated clip retain the contrast between dark volcanic material and warm metal.
Its Double Reservoir Power Filler system fills with bottled ink and uses two communicating reservoirs that can be isolated from one another. This arrangement is intended to help limit ink leakage during air travel. The system holds the equivalent of 10 ink cartridges, combining visible ink storage with the two-reservoir construction. A 14k gold nib and Hook Safe Lock cap complete this Italian-made fountain pen. It measures 145 mm closed, with a 15 mm barrel width.

Questions & Answers
What can you see through the two windows?
The large barrel window shows the ink in the main reservoir. A smaller window near the grip reveals the second reservoir, making both parts of the filling system visible within the lava-and-bronze design.
How does the double-reservoir system work?
It uses two communicating ink reservoirs that can be isolated from one another. The Double Reservoir Power Filler takes bottled ink, and the two visible reservoirs distinguish Crystal Dream from an opaque lava fountain pen.
How much ink does it hold?
Its stated capacity is equivalent to 10 ink cartridges. This is a comparison of ink volume; the pen itself fills from bottled ink through the Double Reservoir Power Filler.
Why does Crystal Dream have two ink reservoirs?
The two-reservoir arrangement is intended to help limit ink leakage during air travel. Its communicating reservoirs can be isolated from one another, separating the main ink supply from the smaller reservoir near the grip.
