U-Boat Classico Chronograph Automatic Watch with Gray Dial.
A numbered edition limited to 299 pieces worldwide. The Classico collection traces its origins to the diving watch Ilvo Fontana designed in 1942 for the Italian naval forces, retaining the left-side crown featured in the original design. This Classico Chronograph is made of grade 2 titanium and fitted with a matte tungsten bezel. The titanium case measures 45 mm.
A Swiss SW 500 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph, date, and 24-hour indication beneath a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. A crown-extraction lever is positioned at 8:30, while the titanium case back is secured by seven screws and features a U-shaped sapphire window over the movement. The bezel is made of matte tungsten, and the 24-hour hand is red.
The three-level metal dial has a waffle pattern on its upper layer and a gray finish. The indices, numerals, and hands are treated with black Super-LumiNova for legibility in low-light conditions. The Alcantara rubber strap is lined with leather and handcrafted in Tuscany with waxed cotton stitching, then secured by a titanium pin buckle.

Where does the U-Boat design come from?
The design traces its origins to a drawing Ilvo Fontana made in 1942 for the Italian naval forces, a diving watch that remained on paper. His grandson, Italo Fontana, revived the design in Lucca and founded U-Boat around its proportions and distinctive left-side crown.
How do you use the chronograph?
The upper pusher starts and stops the timing hand, while the lower pusher resets it to zero. The dial registers record the minutes and hours elapsed after the central hand completes its first rotation.
What does the 24-hour indication show?
The 24-hour indication uses a hand that completes one rotation per day against a 1-to-24 scale, allowing you to distinguish morning from evening at a glance while the main hour hand completes two rotations per day. The system has its origins in the 24-hour timekeeping used in marine and aviation applications.
Why is the bezel made of tungsten?
Tungsten is far harder than steel. This model has a matte tungsten bezel. U-Boat adopted tungsten as one of its own innovations, alongside the left-side crown and the patented release that frees the crown from its stop.
What can you see through the case back?
The movement from the bridge side, including the oscillating weight that winds the mainspring as the wrist moves and the balance oscillating at the opposite end. The skeletonized weight allows more of the gear train to remain visible.
