The Namiki Nippon Art Dragon with Cumulus fountain pen represents the combination of cumulus clouds with a dragon, symbolizing power and good fortune in Japan. This fountain pen was created through a collaboration of maki-e artists (Kokkokai) and features the Hira Maki-e technique, where the lacquered main design is adorned with sprinkled gold and silver powders. Several additional layers of lacquer are applied, and once hardened, it is polished.
I recently received my Namiki Nippon Art Dragon with Cumulus Fountain Pen, Maki-e. By far the most beautiful pen I own. It is stunning. Have not inked it yet but if it writes half as good as it looks it will be amazing.
