The Namiki Emperor Urushi Vermilion No.50 fountain pen brings the oversized No.50 Jumbo design of the early 1930s into a red lacquer finish. Its eyedropper filling system retains the original ink shutoff concept, preserving a functional link to the historical pen as well as its large scale.
Kokkokai artisans finish the surface using Roiro Urushi Shiage. The final coat is made with oil-free lacquer, polished with special charcoal, and repeatedly rubbed with raw lacquer to develop its luster. The uninterrupted vermilion finish gives the lacquer itself the central role in the design, accented by a gold-finished clip.
The Japanese-made pen has a large No.50 18k gold nib and a screw-on cap. It measures 174.1 mm capped with a barrel width of 17.2 mm and weighs 47.7 g with the cap. A wooden presentation box is included.
