The Montegrappa Ode to Bag End fountain pen turns the Baggins family's hillside home into a detailed tribute to The Lord of the Rings. Its brown resin design recalls the warmth of Hobbiton and Bag End's role as the starting point for a journey through Middle-earth.
Three-dimensional tiling and framework echo Hobbiton architecture. An acid-etched, hand-painted depiction of the home's weathered entrance forms part of the decoration, while the barrel overlay combines plain and oak-grain resin. These details give the edition its connection to the setting as well as the story.
The fountain pen has a 14k gold nib, a cartridge/converter filling system, and a screw-on cap. Two ink cartridges and a converter are included, together with special packaging.
Made in Italy in an edition of 999 fountain pens, it measures 142 mm long and 18 mm in diameter, with a stated weight of 62 g.
