This week we replace the "Special Editions' Blog", to introduce you our last watchmaking brand: Vulcain. This swiss watch manufacture, placed in Le Locle, is the inventor of the alarm complication for wristwatches, making an inedible imprint on the watchmaking history. This innovation made Vulcain earning its reputation as "The Watch for Presidents", tradition that has been perpetuated by every President of the United States from Harry S. Truman, until Barack Obama.
All the lines are known for its elegance and features, being most of them of manual charge, something that real watchmaking lovers appreciate so much.
SELECTED PRODUCTS
In this Anniversary Heart model, its V-18 movement can be observed through it semi-skeleton dial. The principal characteristics of this manual movement are its anthracite treatment and its fine details. The beautiful black alligator strap fits with the dial and makes an original watch.
The Tradition line has a esthetic inspired by a 50's Vulcain model, keeping its elegant and sophisticated design, but with the highest contemporary demands.
In 1961 Vulcain presents one of the first diving watches with an alarm that can be heard underwater to warn the diver about the time he's been submerged. Now Vulcain pays tribute to this legendary model, but reediting it with the accuracy and excellence that give the current technologies
Looking back at one the greatest moments in its history, Vulcain revives the spirit of the alarm wristwatch in the Heritage President's Watch. A re-edition of the 1950 model, it houses the famous Cricket V-10 hand-wound movement.
