Esterbrook was founded in 1858 by Richard Esterbrook in Camden, New Jersey. It was one of the largest fountain pen manufacturers in the world, well known for its interchangeable nibs and wide range of models. Esterbrook remained at the forefront until its closure in 1972.
When they reopened their doors Esterbrook paid homage to their tradition and launched a series of specialized nibs, including the Journaler, Scribe and Needlepoint.
Just as there are pens for every hand, Esterbrook has always embodied the belief that there are nibs for every style of writing.
Known for its flexible nib, the Esterbrook Journaler nib is inspired by the vintage Esterbrook 9314M nib.
This nib was designed by Gema Salorino, and allows for a wide range of strokes. For example, it is suitable for everyday writing due to its smoothness when writing, and at the same time it is ideal for calligraphy and lettering, as well as for drawing thanks to its flexibility.
This steel nib is considered to be durable and resistant.

Created by Josh Lax, the Scribe is the second edition of the custom nib series, and is based on an architect's nib. It is a flexible nib suitable for a variety of writing tasks.
Like the Journaler, the Scribe is made of steel and is known for its persistence and flexibility; this allows for both fine downward and broad horizontal strokes, or it can also be used upside down for greater variation.
The Scribe is intended to emulate the elements, curves and movement used by the Aramaic scribes who were responsible for religious, political and court calligraphers' manuscripts. In this case, however, it is adapted to the rhythm of the modern writer.

The latest edition in the series of personalized nibs was the Needle Point, a nib even finer than any extra-fine nib you might have ever tried.
Its point is sharp and ideal for precise and delicate writing. It is characterized by its very fine point, which allows extremely refined and consistent lines to be drawn. The Needle Point nib is often used for writing small texts, calligraphy or for making particularly detailed illustrations and drawings.
It is the finest nib available among fountain pen nibs and is perfect for those who appreciate precision and quality in writing.
