Tibaldi & Company was founded in 1916 by Giuseppe Tibaldi. Since then, the Italian brand has been creating pens for more than 90 years.

At the moment of its creation, the market for fountain pens in Italy was still very young and writing was dominated by reed and metal pens. The company became one of the industry leaders up until the 1960s.

When Giuseppe died in 1935, the company was acquired by Remo Pagliuca, one of its main clients, who became the new owner. His purpose was to decrease the number of writing collections, which almost cost the business to close in 1960. 

When the Aquila family took over in 2004 the Tibaldi headquarters moved from Florence to Bassano del Grappa, giving the label a notorious fresh etiquette. 

The Aquila family is considered a leader in the writing industry and are part owners of some of the biggest brands in the industry such as Tibaldi and Montegrappa.
